The Never-Ending Story of 12-Year-Old Girl

On Monday, Mr. Whiting came into our Humanities class to explain how to figure out our dominant learning profiles. We had to do a few tests and analyze and fill out our answers. For me, I learned that I was a profile L. Now, you may be asking: What is a Profile L?
Being one, I totally snap under stress. To help me with that, I have to do something alone and relax myself, maybe listen to music or doddle my stress away. I am a kinesthetic learner, which means I HAVE to move around or do something or fiddle or fidget. If I don’t I may as well break down. I’m used to multi-tasking, yet there are times where I can’t focus on one thing. I get distracted very easily.
I can be quiet when I choose to, but mostly I am loud and outgoing. I enjoy making friends and try my best to be happy. I can be VERY dramatic but sometimes I know when to cut it. Or sometimes not. But that’s my personality.
Like said before, I learn the best when I am moving and doing something, like sculpting clay in art, acting a skit in Humanities, or doing a science experiment. Being a kinesthetic learner also translates into being a Gestalt learner. A Gestalt is a person who mostly uses the right side of their brain. They like to be creative and like I’ve said one too many times, DO things!
My teachers should know that I can be quiet when it comes to something quiet and logical, like, ahem, math. Now Math is actually a fun subject, but I like to learn it with flash cards and mental math quizzes, or building blocks. But when you are in 7th grade, that doesn’t happen anymore. So basically I might get frustrated easily and it may take a while for me to grasp the topic, but I eventually will succeed to learn it.
There’s a bit of a hitch in my ‘L’ though. I enjoy writing. That DOES come into the creative section but it is also a quiet activity. Actually, it isn’t that quiet for me. Honestly, if I sit down to write, I’ll start playing music, then go downstairs for a snack and stay there. Then my mom will remind me that I was writing a story. Then I’ll go back upstairs and probably blank out. And then maybe dance to the music I left playing when I went downstairs for food. But I’m just saying, that’s a typical writing session for me. So I guess you could say that I am quite distracted and don’t really get to the point fast enough. (As you can see here in this blog post.)

All in all, I am an outgoing, relatively loud, creative, fidgeting, music-loving girl. And that is MY L Profile!
